Marathon 2 Editor status:
Maps
Pfhorte 2.0 has been out for quite some time now. It is the only M2 map editor currently, the author of Mia has not been overly excited to create a M2 map editor. It supports M1 map conversion, along with all the new features Marathon 2 supports.

Shapes
Unfortunately, no one has really dedicated themselves to making a M2 shapes editor. Some were willing to work on it, but slouched off until eventually coming to a complete halt in their progress.

Terms
Bo Lindbergh has released version .99 of Hex!, his Terminal Editor. Very well written.

Sounds
James Knight's "M2 Sound Converter" 0.5b has been around for quite some time now. Primitive, but it does what it's designed to do: convert between sound resources and Marathon 2 Sounds

Will Bungie release Vulcan?
Gosh, we hope so! Vulcan2 is Bungie's editor they used for Marathon 2. Shapes, sounds, terms, maps, all in one complete, well-written program. Bungie hasn't decided whether it'll be commercial or shareware, if they release it at all. Steve Israelson (Author of Pfhorte) would like Bungie to release Vulcan. Pfhorte has been very strenous on him, and he'd be happy to hand the torch over to someone else.
