[Ed. Note: I primarily see Bunker Safari as a 'see how long you live' map. It comes in 2 Levels: The original (3X health) for the wussies and hacked (1X health, limited) for more experienced players]

Welcome to the Bunker Safari.

Be sure to use the Physics Model with this map. It includes high explosive grenade and rocket rounds and high cyclic rate sniper rifle, as well as some reprogramming.

This map will look stupid if you don't realize the premise behind it. Imagine that in the future you were able to purchase a hightech hunting safari in which you could experience militaristic battle similar to that of the Marathon battle while still enjoying a level of safety. Further imagine that our society also decided to execute deathrow prisoners by including these prisoners in such safaris. (For added insurance, some prisoners have explosive packs strapped to them that detonate when the prisoner approaches someone.) This safari would be called Bunker Safari.

Bunker Safari is mainly a soloplayer game, although it has potential for use as a multiplayer game. It consists of one level only. This level consists of an arena with a thicklyarmored bunker in the center of the arena. Action occurs in all areas of the arena, but the armored bunker is not accessible to aliens.
As the purchaser of a Safari, you are advised to fight aliens from within the security of the armored bunker. If you so desire, however, you may exit the bunker and attempt to eliminate aliens from the arena floor.

You start the safari from the armament room of the bunker. This is a safe area with no danger of attack. Stock up here, then enter the center of the bunker thru the door.There are four firing ports in the armored bunker, and you can enter these firing ports by going thru the doors leading off from the center of the bunker.

You can always tell when you are in an area of the bunker in which you will be in danger from attack the walls are white with orange and yellow horizontal stripes.

There are two teleporters in the center of the bunker one goes up to an elevated bunker on the northwestern corner of the arena (outside of the center bunker) and the other leads to a belowground level bunker on the Southeastern corner of the arena. (Also outside of the center bunker.) Both of these external bunkers have teleporters leading back into the center bunker.
WARNING: The elevated bunker in the Northwestern corner of the arena has a bulletproof forcefield window in the center room which looks out onto the arena so that the arena can be observed from the room without fear of attack. DO NOT FIRE EXPLOSIVE WEAPONS INTO THE WINDOW WHILE OBSERVING THRU IT, AS THEIR EFFECT WILL DAMAGE YOU!
You can exit the armored bunker thru an ante room and enter onto the Arena Floor if you choose to do so. Be aware of the height of the Arena certain aliens like attack you from above where you cannot see them!

For your convenience, there is a "friendly" robot located in a small room in the armored bunker. The purpose of this robot is to assist you if alien forces become too strong in the arena, and is programmed to fire on everyone but you.This robot can be deployed by operating the switch located on the inside of the bunker next to the Robot Room. This will open a door to the outside arena, allowing the Robot to exit. You may need to persuade the robot by firing on the robot one time with the sniper rifle. Be CAREFUL! The Robot is equipped with an extremely fastfiring grenade launcher and rocket launcher, and if he fires on aliens nearby you may be injured by the blast effect! Also be aware that while the outside door to the Robot Room is open to the arena, you will be in danger of being fired upon by aliens. You are advised to close the outer door after the robot is released.

There is an "Alien Crusher" in the center of the Eastern Wall of the arena. Without going into too much detail, the object of this "Alien Crusher" is to allow the player to lure aliens into a large traproom. The player can then close all doors to this traproom by running across activator floor panels, thus trapping the aliens in the room. The player can then teleport into a Control Room and activate the Alien Crusher by operating a switch. The player can observe the operation of the Alien Crusher from observation ports in the Control Room. The following is one manner of operating the Alien Crusher: Open the doors to the Alien Crusher using the switches in the eastern firing port of the bunker. Exit the bunker and run across the arena floor and into the Alien Crusher room. As soon as aliens see you, they will follow you into the large Alien Crusher room. Once you lure them into the room, proceed to run thru the small door at the rear of the room. Continue running thru this small room and into the transporter. As you do so, the large and small doors to the Crusher room will be closed. Proceed to run into the transporter. You will then be transported to the Control Room where you can start the Alien Crusher using the switch located on the wall facing the Alien Crusher room. Once you activate the switch, move to observe thru the observation ports (These observation ports have the bulletproof forcefield mentioned earlier BE CAREFUL!). After a few seconds, the floor of the Alien Crusher will rise up and crush all aliens in the Crusher room. It may take some time to figure out the details to this feature, but it will be well worth your time and effort to do so. I have crushed up to 10 Phfor at one time using this room.
