The Story Thus Far:
In 2808, the United Earther Space Council decided that something must be done about the growing # of people on the planet. Mars, Venus, and Mercury all had thriving colonies, but no one wished to leave Earth; they were afraid of the risky shuttle stays in orbit.
Thus, the council decided to build man's greatest achievement, THE SPACE RING. This metallic ring was built around the planet in space to act as a safe resting place/luxury hotel for the people wishing to traverse to the other colonies. Not long after the Ring's completion, the evolutionary cataclysm that Nostradamos predicted occured. Thousands of children at the age of 12-15 began to mutate into the elves, dwarves, gnomes, and Orcs of the legends. Soon, Magic returned to the Earth. The once-destroyed Island of Xanthus rose from its watery grave and soon the Peoples' Republic Of Xanthus began to thrive. Xanthus soon housed the U.E.S.C., U.N., and a new group called the United Mages Council. On a hot summer day in Xanthus, its president Magius Phoenexus, christened the first colony ship in a century, the Xanthan.
"My fellow Earthers, this ship will propell our race and Magics far out into the cosmos, affirming our gift of curiosity and learning. May we all benefit allways from its work."
That was a year ago. The Xanthan is currently docked at the larger Space Ring port and you wish to travel on it to the newly-found planet, Oceanica. The story begins with you entering one of many Military Officials' entrance ports.
Installing:
To install this scenario, you must have ResEdit or an appropriate facimily.
1. Open the MARATHON v1.2 Resources.
2. Open the TERM RESOURCE Resources.
3. Copy the TERM resource from TERM RESOURCE to MARATHON v1.2.
4. In ResEdit, click YES, NOT the "unique ID button".
5. Save Marathon v1.2.
6. Quit and Launch.
Sorry If you can't get this to work, once I figure it out, I'll make a ResCompare patch.
